“The joy of spending time on the Madison lakes brings family and friends together and provides memories that last a lifetime. Preserving that legacy is important to me and to so many others.”Gaby Thomas
Gaby Thomas joined Clean Lakes Alliance as the Finance Manager in 2020.
Growing up land-locked in a suburb of Dallas, Gaby could have never imagined that most of her adult life would be spent on the water. Then one day, about 30 years ago, she met her husband, who was raised in a Midwestern ski team family. Dad drove the boats, Mom skied on the ballet line, and the two boys jumped, slalom skied, and barefooted. It was inevitable – she had to learn to waterski.
Gaby and her husband reside in McFarland and have two sons and three dogs. Thanks to passionate grandparents, their boys both learned to waterski at the age of two. They received their boating licenses in middle school, and the family spent many summer days boating, tubing, and skiing together and with friends on Lake Waubesa. It became clear that their love of the lakes was a legacy in the making.
Professionally, Gaby brings more than 30 years of experience in accounting, finance, and administration to Clean Lakes Alliance. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, she holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Shortly after graduating, became licensed a Certified Public Accountant.
Gaby began her career as a CPA at KPMG in Orange County, California, and then at Ernst & Young in Chicago and in Madison. Gaby then ventured into the world of self-employment and consulting, specializing in small, family-owned businesses and nonprofits. Clean Lakes Alliance presents an amazing opportunity to combine her accounting and finance experience with her love of the lakes.
