Lake Buddy (youth education)

Become a Lake Buddy!

As a Lake Buddy, you will sponsor the cost to send one or more kids to the Lake Explorer Camp. The Lake Explorer Camp is a partnership program with Madison Boats and local community centers that engages kids in hands-on lake ecology education. Your support as a Lake Buddy helps keep this program running, by funding materials, transportation and staff time for one child. Student(s) that you sponsor will identify lake life under the microscope, learn how to bait a hook and cast a line to fish, and gain valuable paddling and water safety skills under the guidance of outdoor staff and multilingual instructors. Lake Buddies receive all Friend of Clean Lakes benefits, including…
  • Free admission to monthly Clean Lakes 101 Science Café events
  • Clean Lakes Alliance yard sign and annual update stickers
  • Invitations to participate in Clean Lakes Alliance volunteer opportunities

Interested in sponsoring the Lake Explorer Camp?

The program currently supports approximately 840 total education hours, with opportunities for expansion with additional financial support. Your support could lengthen instruction time or allow for repeat visits during the season for a more in-depth learning experience. Visit cleanlakesalliance.org/sponsorship to learn more. Donors who make a gift at the $1,000 or more level are recognized each year through Clean Lakes Alliance’s Yahara Society. Clean Lakes Alliance is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization. Your donation is tax-deductible!

Thank you for becoming a Lake Buddy!
