National “Imagine a Day Without Water”
Water is essential to our lives. October 17th is National “Imagine a Day Without Water.” Let’s take a moment to consider what our day would look like without water. From our morning coffee or tea, to taking a shower, to swimmable lakes, to growing our crops and nourishing our natural landscapes, it would be impossible to live without clean water.
Clean Lakes Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the streams, lakes, and waterways of the Yahara Watershed. The national “Imagine a Day Without Water” campaign is gaining momentum as it highlights the indispensable role of clean water in our daily lives. Clean Lakes Alliance has set an ambitious goal of raising $25,000 to bolster efforts in safeguarding public beaches and funding essential projects such as the Seed the Need prairie restoration. This campaign underscores the community’s commitment to preserving our precious natural water resources.
Our abundant fresh water is our most important resource; without it, life in the Yahara Watershed would be unimaginable. The funds raised through this campaign will directly support Clean Lakes Alliance’s work in safeguarding the lakes and streams that sustain our community’s physical, mental, and economic well-being.

“At Clean Lakes Alliance, we understand how important clean water is for everything we do, from our morning shower to lake recreation,” said James Tye, Executive Director. “The Imagine a Day Without Water campaign encourages us to think about what life would be like without this valuable resource. Our community is fortunate to have access to fresh, abundant water, but we can’t take it for granted. With community support, we can protect and improve the Yahara Watershed.”
We seek your support to raise $25,000 in October — a drop in the bucket that will ripple far beyond our shores.
